Wow! I can't believe that the whole month of July has flown by us and I haven't updated our blog! I have to promise not to let that happen again!
Anyways, it's been busy, busy and Tyler is getting bigger by the day! He is really getting to the age where babies are SO much fun! Everyday he learns something new or laughs at a new face that Mommy and Daddy make!
The Sullivans have been up to a lot over the past month!
But first things first....HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY to everyone! Our weekend was very interesting to say the least! We met my parents in Commerce, GA on July 3rd and dropped off Tyler with them. They were on Nana/Papa/Aunt Kelly duty for the night. Meanwhile, Ben and I headed back to Atlanta and attended Infant CPR training with our nanny share couple Courtney and Joe. Afterwards we went out for drinks at Taco Mac and watched a World Cup match! After some nachos and beer, Ben and I quickly headed home and got changed for a visit to Chops Steakhouse downtown. We tried Steak Tar tare for the first time and I was quite impressed. The next morning we were up BRIGHT and early for my first (Ben's second) Peachtree Road Race.
For those of you that don't know, the Peachtree Road Race is the biggest 10K in the United States and is hosted in Downtown Atlanta every year. We had to take the Marta with LITERALLY thousands of runners and it was some great people watching! We ran/walked the race (I pooped out after mile 3) but finished...and that's what's important. When you add in travel to the start line and "to and from" the Marta, I bet we ran/walked 8 miles that day. Not too shabby!!!
Then Ben and I came home, packed our bags and headed to Spartanburg to celebrate the 4th and my grandmother's bday with the Heatherly Family.
We had a delicious Steak dinner and birthday cake! Unfortunately, not a single firework was seen by any the Sullivan clan. Tyler was in bed by 7:30 and Ben and I passed out on the couch by 8. I guess the running and driving and 4th of July cocktails caught up with us...oh well, there's always next year!
The next weekend was pretty chill. Ben and I went to the Farmer's Market in Roswell with Baby T and had a great time hiking around Smith's plantation! Saturday night we went over to Steph and Pat's for dinner so that Baby D and Baby T could have some fun together!
The week of the 12th I was in Pensacola for work, but was able to have dinner at Steph's house on Thursday so that I could visit with Stephanie Stringer who was in town for Tampa for a visit.
It was good times!
On the 17th, Nana and Papa came to visit Tyler so that Ben and I could have a date night.
We went to get Mexican and then headed to see Inception (otherwise known as the worst movie EVER, in my opinion). The 18th was Tyler's 7 month bday and I was glad that the grandparents were there to see Tyler have his monthly growth photo shoot!
The month came to a close as our friends Katye and Matt came into town to visit from DC.
We had a great time with them. We got to know Matt even better since he and Katye are newly engaged and will be getting married next summer! Friday night Amanda offered to babysit so that we could take Katye and Matt to the top of the Westin hotel for drinks. Beautiful view....complete with a rainbow (see pic above). Then it was off to the Chocolate Bar in Decatur for dessert! Saturday, Kayte and Matt went sightseeing after our breakfast at the Flying Biscuit and Ben was on Tman duty so that I could attend Sips N Strokes with Amanda! So much fun! We sipped wine together and painted! I can't wait to go back for another class!
Kayte and Matt left on Sunday, and we finished off a nice weekend with some family time!
The next week I was in Raleigh most of the week for work. Ben played Superdad while I was gone, so I treated him with Happy Hour with his buddies on Thursday. The rest of the week was spent packing for our 2010 Isle of Palms Beach Vacation!!!! Pics and Post to follow! My how summer flies by....
