Backyard Campout!!!

What a fun & crazy weekend we had! Our friends Monica and Rob came into town to get a taste of suburbia lifestyle, and we certainly didn't let them down!
The fun started last Thursday night.  Monica's sorority sister hosted a Stella and Dot trunk show (Monica is a stylist) and I ended up spending a small fortune on some amazing jewelry! But it was a great time!

PS - I'm hosting an online trunk show if anyone is interested!!! Check out my link if you want some amazing jewelry and free shipping!!!

My Stella & Dot stylist is offering free shipping to anyone that places an order by this Sunday 9/30 at 12pm. You can either place the order through me directly and she will discount the shipping when she inputs the order or place the order online using my show link (http://www.stelladot.com/ts/wznj5) and she will mail you a refund for the shipping.

Friday night we had Tyler's sitter over and the adults headed to our favorite restaurant Sip in Downtown Crabapple for wine, Tapas and chocolate coconut pie!

Saturday we headed to the aquarium after Breakfast. Monica and Rob were amazed at the whale sharks and Tyler was amazed by the Pirate Divers...Happy Talk Like a Pirate Day!!!

Saturday night was the Neighborhood Backyard Campout! We had a ball! The kids played, chased lightning bugs, cooked s'mores,  and snacked on trail mix, while the adults pigged out on hamburgers and broke out the beer pong table. Tyler was finally in his bed around 11pm and the adults stayed up and partied a bit longer. No, The Sullivans didn't actually "camp out", but a lot of the older kids/parents did...maybe next year we will but I couldn't justify sleeping on an air mattress when my bed was just upstairs! ;)
The next morning the kids played outside and a light breakfast was served. Cheers to our next door neighbors for hosting an awesome party. Here's the first annaul backyard campout pic!!!

We finished the weekend by enjoying brunch at Thumbs Up Diner, saying goodbye to Monica and Rob and then heading to our neighbor's birthday party at Roswell Park. Tyler had a great time playing with his friends on the playground & getting a sugar high from eating cake, lollipops and snow cones...all in one sitting! Happy Birthday Grayson!!!

I hope everyone else out there had a fun filled weekend! Fall is just around the corner!
You can smell it in the air!!!

My new and IMPROVED Blog!!!

I'm so excited to debut my NEW and IMPROVED Blog Design!!! I must give props to Chris from Where We Can Live Like Jack and Sally who did all of the work for me. I wanted something cute and fun (I have zero HTML experience) so I hired someone.
I'm SO freaking happy with the results!!!
I've also changed the name of the blog...The Sullivans was boring and didn't describe us at all (I mean besides our actual name).
Welcome to: Life can be so sweet...on the Sully side of the Street.
Now that's what I'm talking about!!!

As you can see there are links to the left of the screen.

I'm working on updating these and haven't finished yet. But a few links are up and active! Surf around and find out a little bit more about us if you want!

So...onto our updates.
Last week was one of those weeks where we never had a typical "day in the life" routine. It was a little weird to be honest and had me craving family time by Friday.
Monday night Ben had a Happy Hour with Mike (at Hooters...lovely) so Tyler and I hung out just the two of us. Tuesday night Tyler and I went over to Steph's to hang with Amanda, Steph and Little Dylan for a little sushi and a little wine. Wednesday was Preschool Curriculum Night at Tyler's School, and Thursday was my book club.

So by Friday I was ready to relax! And relax is what we did. We had a great dinner out at Erwoods with Melanie, Jared, Maddie and Gabriel and then went to Scoops for Ice Cream!
Saturday Ben and I hit the gym while Tyler hit kids club, then in the afternoon we headed downtown for Elmo Live. Our next door neighbor scored us the Suite at Phillips Arena and the kids had a ball!

After Elmo, we headed to Stats for dinner and football! It was a fun night for everyone!

Sunday, Tyler had a playdate at the house with a bunch of the neighbors and we worked on house projects. Nothing too grand! But I did score with another dish off of Pinterest! Jalapeno Popper Chicken...say what???

This is the Plateau that never ends...yes it goes on and on my friends!

When I google imaged Plateau this is what came up
My first thought was that maybe I could lose a few more pounds if I hiked over that thing.

Guys, I'm stuck in the world's WORST weight loss plateau.
As you recall, when I weighed in on July 12th I had lost 20lbs...Woot Woot!
Now, here it is September 13th and I hit a 22lb weight loss today.
2lbs in 2 months, are your freaking KIDDING ME???????????
I've been consistently working out 5 days/week and eating salad like a rabbit and all I get is 2lbs? I'm so frustrated!

But I know it's a marathon, not a sprint! I just have to convince myself to NOT give up! And I won't, I've come way too far!

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go drown my sorrows in a wine glass as big as my head!!!!

A Day in the Life!

So...I've never tried anything like this before on my little ole blog, but I thought...what the heck! This sounds like FUN!
I've been following a lot of blogs recently. Especially those centered around "Weight Loss while juggling kids".

One of the blogs I follow Where We Can Live Like Jack and Sally is hosting A Day in the Life link up party, and I thought...what the heck! Let's give it go!

So for all 7 of my followers who are DYING to hear I'm sure, LOL....

Here's a typical weekday in the Sullivan House:

7:15 am- Ben and I nudge each other to see who's going to hop in the shower first. (we are late risers these days) Usually it's Ben.
I lay there and contemplate getting up to iron or grab my phone and surf for a few minutes until I hear Tyler stir.
By Tyler stirring it usually goes something like "Mommy!!! Mommy!! Come get me!!!!" (Yesterday it was "Mommy Sullivan, you get in here right NOW!" I love my kid, he's SO just like me). I scoop him out of the crib and change him (diaper at night but big boy underwear during the day) and bring him into my bed to watch Disney Jr. By now, Ben's out of the shower downstairs getting Tyler some Little Bites (he loves those things) and a sippy cup while I hop in the shower.

7:45 am- After a shower, I iron our clothes and throw some dry shampoo in my hair (I'm obsessed) and flat iron it. Ben goes downstairs for his staple breakfast...peanut butter on an English Muffin.
Then we get Tyler dressed and he and Ben head off for preschool drop off. (with his backpack, cup of cheerios and some grapes in tow).

8 am - I finish my make up, make the bed, put a lunch together and get out the door

8:55 am - Arrive at work (I always listen to the Bert Show on the radio). My work day is business as usual. I work all day as a Recruitment Director. Nothing glamorous but healthcare and HR are my passion, and  it's WAY better than my traveling job that made my life miserable. The people here are nice and I'm happy!

12 pm - Depending on the week, sometimes I either go grab sushi for lunch, run to Kroger for a few items, head to the gym for a quick run, or (if it's Thurs or Fri) go to Weight Watchers to weigh in!

5 pm - Head to preschool to pick up Tyler and drive home. On the way home we always call Daddy on the bluetooth to have a rundown of Tyler's day. We report on how well he ate, how long he napped, and what his favorite subject was...the rest of the way home we sing songs and "gossip" about the kids in his class.

6 - 6:15pm - Ben gets home (cue "Reunited and it feels so goooood") and we have some play time (sometimes outside with the neighbors, sometimes playing cars and trucks in the living room) while I make dinner.

6:45 pm - Time to EAT! (usually leftovers from the weekend, something quick (tacos, lettuce wraps, pasta, etc), or something I've made the night before that needs to be heated up (did I mention my love affair with my crock pot?)

7:15 pm - Bathtime! I get Tyler in the bath (he usually likes to run around naked screaming for a little bit before I scoop him up and get him in there). He bathes downstairs so it's easy for Ben and I to keep an eye on him while we clean up the kitchen

7:45 pm - Little Einsteins viewing party on the couch!

8- 8:15 pm - Bedtime for Tyler (complete with stories, kisses and snuggles)

8:30 pm - Either I go to the gym with a neighbor or head downstairs to get on the elliptical. If I've already worked out at lunch, I'll hit up some laundry. (glamorous, right?)

9:30 pm - Workout is done WOO HOO...time to contemplate dinner for the next night and do any prep work.

10 pm - Snuggle time with the Benny Boo and watch some TV (right now we're watching Friday Night Lights on Netflix)

10:45 pm  - Lights out Yo...this Mama is tired!

Happy Labor Day - Put those white pants away, girl

Hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing Labor Day weekend!!! Can I tell you how much I love long weekends???
Why can't 4 day work weeks be the standard, yo???

Anyways...so here's what we have been up to...
The week of the 20th was filled with preschool, gym time, work...the usual.
Tuesday night, Ben and I made dinner for our new neighbors that just had a baby (well...I made dinner), and then Wednesday the 22nd, the neighbor girls and I went to All3sports Triathalon Store in Dunwoody to try on tri suits. I think I highlighted in my previous post how humiliating that was. After that, I wanted nothing more than to go run to get rid of some of the fat rolls that were on display in the mirrors of the dressing room, but alas, I was swayed by the ladies to go have wine and tapas instead (not much twisting of my arm was needed)
Friday the 24th we headed up to Spartanburg for the weekend. Ben continued the journey up to Charlotte on Saturday morning for his Fantasy Football draft, while Tyler and I stayed behind and hung out with Nana and Papa.
We got some good shopping and pool time in!

This last week of August, we celebrated the beginning of COLLEGE FOOTBALL!!! It's back!!!
(Que 2001 : A Space Odyssey music).

The Gamecocks definitely got off to a rocky start, but we got the W against Vanderbilt on Thursday.
Virginia Tech got the Win in Overtime against GA Tech...what a nail biter that was (or so I was told...by the hubby, I went to bed).

We spent this Labor Day weekend having fun and getting stuff dun (like my rhyme?)...
Saturday morning, I was up bright and early to do a BRICK (that's Bike, Run...a tri term I just learned). Our Tri group did a 3 mile bike around the neighborhood, followed by a 3 mile run.
Then it was off to Cleveland, GA for a Wine Fest (all the neighbors and kids went and we met my parents up there too)
After we had our fill of wine and grape stomping, we ventured over to Babyland, home of the Cabbage Patch Kid Factory.
I must say...Babyland was much LESS Impressive than I remember it 26 years ago.

Sunday, We had steak dinner and lots of play time! Monday was dedicated to a delicious brunch (very anti Weight Watchers), A Playdate with Tyler's BFF Jack, and cleaning and organizing the garage.
I bleached the hell out of the floors and we bought shelves at Home Depot to organize the chaos...the inner OCD woman inside of me giggled with delight when the floors gleamed and everything was in it's place.
Let's see how long it stays that way :)

Hope you all had a safe and fun Labor Day weekend too!
