HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday Night BBQ at Steph and Pat's...

Saturday night Ben and I headed over to Steph and Pat's for quite the party! Good times, Good food and we killed the keg in like 4 hours...

We had a blast! Thanks Pat and Steph for hosting a great party!

Danny Tanner...I think not!

So Friday night Ben and I went to the Tabernacle in Downtown Atlanta to see Bob Saget!

For those of you that know us well...Ben and I are big fans of comedy shows.

In fact, our first date was at the Warner Theater in Washington, DC. Ben took me to see "Defending the Caveman" which was hysterical!

But onto Bob Saget...The Tabernacle, as a venue, was pretty cool. They had a large stage with 3 bars in the theater. However, the seats were your basic fold out chairs and they were jammed so tightly together that I might as well have been sitting in Ben's lap.

To make matters worse, when the opening act came on before Bob, people were still getting their drinks at the bar which made it very difficult to hear.

Then Bob Saget came out. Ben and I were very psyched but much to our dismay...it pretty much sucked. The way Bob delivers his comedy is very "stream of conscientiousness" and there was no time for laughter between his jokes.
The fact that he is pretty dirty didn't bother me....and some of his stuff was pretty good.
But overall, I give it about a 3 out of 10...definitely not worth our money.

Oh well, you win some, you lose some....

At least he poked a lot of fun at his days on Full House and as the host of America's Funniest Home Videos...those jokes were pretty funny!

For those of you wishing to reminisce with me...here are the lyrics from the theme song to Full House

What ever happened to predictibility?
The milkman, the paperboy, evening TV.
Everywhere you look , everywhere you go (there's a heart).
There's a heart A hand to hold onto.
Everywhere you look , everywhere you go.
There's a face Of somebody who needs you.
Eveywhere you look, When you're lost out there and you're all alone, A light is waiting to carry you home, Everywhere you look. Everywhere you look.

When Life Hands You Lemons....

Chesare, Sylvia, Kristen
Chesare and Amanda
Kristen and Sylvia
Rob and Steph
Kim and Will

Unfortuante weather didn't stop my friends from having an absolute blast this weekend...
My motto is..."When life hands you lemons, make lemonade"....Luckily, we had just enough vodka on hand to spike it!!!

Two of my coworkers came into town on Friday night and we decided to give Atlanta a run for it's money for the next two days!!!

Our great friends Steph and Pat came over for some burgers after work. Ben grilled out and we had wine and just chilled out on the our deck. Around 9pm Chesare and Sylvia (my coworkers) arrived!
We all laughed and talked out on the patio until midnight....drunken shenanigans continued until late night!

Saturday morning we woke up bright and early to "Shoot the Hooch". For those of you that don't know what that is....it's tubing down the Chattahooche "Lazy River" style.

We were all set to go. We went to Azalea Park and put down our money for the tubes...and had coolers stocked with plenty of beer! The group of 11 was just about to hop on the shuttle when...BOOM....a big bolt of lightning, followed by a crash of thunder came out of the sky.
At this point, we got our money back and decided that being on a river during a thunderstorm was not the best idea.

The group then moved back to our house and played drinking games until the sun came out.
At that point we headed over to Steph and Pat's pool for the afternoon.

Later that night I took Sylvia and Chesare to a party downtown. But just like Ben (who was pooped and opted out of the late night party) I think the sun and the beer got the best of us...we ended up not staying too long and just going to Taco Mac for some yum food.

We were in bed pretty early that night! The full day of fun wore us down!
Sunday the girls got on the road early so that they could get back to NC by dinner time!

I went on a 3 mile hike with Steph around Roswell Park and later joined her and Amanda by the pool before I headed to Greenville for work on Monday!

I was able to get to Greenville/Spartanburg by 6:30pm...just in time to have dinner with my folks! We had chicken, butter beans, cous cous, and cornbread. It was delicious!

Thanks Mom and Dad for hosting your daughter on Sunday night.

and Thanks to Chesare and Sylvia for making the trek to ATL!!!

Ice Road Truckers....Get on the Bandwagon!

For those of you that don't watch the History Channel...you are missing out!

Make sure you check out Ice Road Truckers on Sunday nights.

Ben and I are obsessed with this show.
It's amazing what these men do...and for some reason I absolutely love it!

Ice Road Truckers (including my fave Hugh "the Polar Bear"...pictured above) can make upwards of $100,000 in two months by driving 18 wheelers carrying tons of equipment OVER the Arctic Ocean...it's insane, cause at any moment they could fall through the ice and die!!!

Sounds boring but I promise you it's not a show to be missed!!!

On another note: To my good friend Kerarrrr.... make sure you check out the other History channel show "Black Gold". Matthew McConaughey's brother is on that show. He's much older and looks nothing like him...but he named his child Miller Lyte McConaughey. Got to respect a man that does that!

Kickball Season Starts Again!

Last night was Game One of our Summer Kickball Season.
Our new team "Why Stop at Third" really made a great effort but fell short to "Just the Tip" by one run.
Ben made a run in, and one of my kicks got me to first base...HOLLA!!!
As far as outfield is concerned, I did a pretty decent job as catcher and Ben made a clutch pop fly catch in Left Field.
I was a proud wife...
I know our team has the stamina and the athletic ability (not by me) to win next week!!!

Goooooo "Why Stop at Third"!!!

This weekend my two coworkers are coming into town for some Atlanta fun!
I will post pictures of our crazy shenanigans on Monday!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Neighborhood Up in Arms

As many of you know Ben and I have a "pseudo-adopted" kitty. She belongs to our neighbors across the street but they had basically stopped taking care of her so Ben and I, along with two other neighbors on our streeet, have been sharing the responsibility of feeding her and giving her lots of attention.

Well, when Ben and I got home from DC this weekend I called for her and she never responded...this continued for two days, at which point I was starting to get concerned.

When Ben was driving to work yesterday he noticed that the kitty's bed that used to be on her owner's porch was missing. At this point I went into STAGE 3 Panic mode. I started swarming the Animal Shelter sites in Atlanta looking for her. I called and emailed several shelters and told them to please contact us if a kitty matching the description was turned in over the weekend.

Yesterday afternoon Ben and I walked over to the neighbor's house to find out what happened to our beloved kitty.
Turns out, the owner gave her away to a friend over the weekend. Needless to say, I was DEVASTATED!!!

So this morning I was outside watering the plants before I started work, when my neighbor drove by with her daughter. Seeing as they fed the cat as well she asked if I knew of its where abouts. I told her the story and she got VERY upset. She said that the owners knew how much we all loved the cat and how upset her kids were about this.

My neighbors and I have now joined forces for "Misson: Rescue Kitty"!!! We are sure that we could give it a more loving home than its new owners in a completely different neighborhood.

I'll keep you all abreast of my attempts to rescue our precious kitty!

Happy Father's Day!!

Happy Fathers Day to our wonderful Dads!!!

Ben and I are so lucky to have such great families!!!

Before Ben and I flew back to Atlanta on Sunday morning we were able have lunch with the Sullivan clan...Mom Sullivan, Dad Sullivan, and Kate!

The Pho was great! Ben and I even tried Frog Legs for the first time!

I wish I could have spend Father's Day with my family but Mom and Dad Heatherly are living it up in Disney World this week!

I have to travel to upstate South Carolina next week for work so I'll be very happy to spend some quality time with both of them!

Mr. and Mrs. Sweeris!!!

Kristen, Erin, Jacqueline and Kristen K
Kristen and the Beautiful Bride
Jacks and Todd having a blast on the dance floor!
Ahhhh...I love my husband!!!
The bridal party

This weekend Ben and I headed up to DC for the wedding of our dear friends Jacqueline and Todd!

It was such a great time! We arrived on Friday in time for an amazing lunch at Big Bowl. Then we came back to the hotel and went to the rehearsal at 5pm. The rehearsal dinner was at Paolo's in Reston Town Center!
So...can I tell you what a great friend Jackie D is!!! Our bridal party gift consisted of earrings, a Coach wristlet, and Vera Bradley bedroom slippers! I was one happy bridesmaid!

That night we hung out at the hotel bar singing 80s TV Theme Songs! I realized I still know all the words to the "Growing Pains" theme song..."Show me that smile again...don't waste another minute on your crying..."

After spending the night (slumber party style) with the bride and bridesmaids in the presidential suite, we headed to the salon bright and early Saturday morning to get our hair done.
The wedding was held at the Dulles Hyatt. Everything was beautiful and the reception was a blast!!!

The happy couple are spending the week in the Outer Banks getting some much deserved R&R. Congrats to Jacqueling and Todd!

Flip Cup Champs AGAIN!!!

Thursday night Ben and I headed to our kball sponsor bar Charlie Mopps for our annual kickball flip cup championship.

Last year our team "The Average Joes" won the tournament, so we rounded up the troops to go back and defend our title!

We had an absolute blast and better yet...WE WON!!!

Congrats to all the Average Joe's!!!!

On another note...I became a little star struck when Rodeo from the first season of VH1's Rock of Love randomly showed up at the bar! You can see from the pics how giddy I was to meet her!!!

Take me out to the Ball Game!!!

So much to catch up on over the past two weeks!!! I've been delinquent in my blogging but we have been so busy!!!

On June 6th Ben and I went to see the Braves play for the first time this season.

Our friends Chris and Toni were in town and they treated us to great seats and a few beers!

6 Months Down...A Joyful Lifetime to Go!!!

Yesterday marked the Sullivans "Half Anniversary". I figured 6 months of newlywed bliss required a bit of celebration! I got Ben some grilling tools for corn on the cob (his fave) and he got me a coach purse!!!

I love my husband!!!

That afternoon we headed over to our friend Grace's house to lounge by the pool.

For those of you that wish to walk down memory lane with me, I've posted some of my favorite wedding pics!

Wasting away again in Margaritaville!!!

Last night my sister and brother-in-law came to Atlanta to see Jimmy Buffett. They had front row seats so I was WAY jealous! They stayed at a hotel that was close to Lakewood Amphitheater but we met up today for lunch before they headed to Spartanburg. They are spending the weekend with our parents.

We went to Taco Mac (a very popular ATL restaurant when it comes to sports and bar food) and had a great time. They also got to see our house and meet our adopted kitty!!!

Thanks for hanging out Kelly and Travis!

Saturday Hike and Date Night!

Kristen on the Bridge
Ben doing his best "GQ" pose!!!
Saturday was an absolutely beautiful day so Ben and I decided to take advantage of it! We headed to Chattahoochee National Forest for a little hike! It was very scenic and fairly easy to navigate through (minus the one time we got lost and had to basically climb a boulder to get back on the trail)!!!
On our way home we stopped by Azalea Park and ate Ice Cream as we took in the view of the Chattahoochee River!
Saturday night Ben and I went out to dinner at an AMAZING restaurant called Agave!
One of my Best Friends in the world Erin, and her awesome Dad got Ben and I some gift certificates to this restaurant in Downtown Atlanta as a wedding gift. Ben and I ate outside and LOVED the chips and salsa and calamari!
Ben had the chicken enchiladas as his main entree and I had the sashimi tuna...Out of this world!!!
Thanks Erin and Daddy Lee for making our Saturday date night such a treat!!!

Just Call Me Carrie Bradshaw!!!

Friday night I hosted a Sex and the City party for a bunch of my girlfriends here in ATL! The concept of the party was that each girl had to bring a "Sex and the City" inspired dish to share. After we all ate and drank some cosmos, we headed to Northpoint Movie Theater for the 10:30 showing of the movie...

The menu included the following:
True fans feel free to leave a comment to see if you can guess the episodes or character that each item references...

"Happy 1st Birthday Brady" cake
Heart Shaped "I LOVE YOU" Cookie
Mini Weeners (obvious, I think...)
Burgers
Fried Chicken
Meatballs

Just call me Roger Ebert cause this movie deserves two thumbs up!!!

It was SO Amazing!!! I absolutely LOVED it! My apologies to Kim for using her shoulder to sob hysterically on!

And where were all the husbands and boyfriends you ask? Why they were with us of course....

hahahahahahahah, YEAH RIGHT! Ben had no desire to see this movie at all...he and the rest of the significant others had a boy's poker night!
