Our Journey

South Carolina - Southern Girl, born and raised...and proud to be a Gamecock!

Maryland - Ben is a Northern boy from Maryland who headed to Virginia Tech to be a Hokie in 1997.

DC - After college, I moved to DC where I spent 4 glorious years and met some of the most amazing people!
Ben moved to DC after college as well. He grew up local to the area, so it wasn't as big of a deal for him to leave the nest as it was for this Southern Crazy Ass Belle.
We met in a bar after a kickball game (so romantic, right?)...and I hit on him!

North Carolina - After a year and a half of dating, Ben got into Grad School at UNC. I was happy for him, but sad for me because I really didn't know where I fit into the equation.
We decided that we would try to "make it work" long distance...and we did...but it was hard!
On Valentine's Day 2006, Ben asked me to move in with him. I had just been offered a promotion at work, so I had to decide. Him or the job? I chose him...and I'm so glad I did.
I transferred down with my company and joined Ben for his last year of the MBA Program. We LOVED Chapel Hill and still talk about retiring there someday! Ben proposed at a beautiful Bed and Breakfast in October 2006

Georgia - Ben got a great job with one of the Nation's largest banks...but we found out he would be based out of Atlanta. So we moved to Atlanta (well north of Atlanta to Roswell) in June of 2006 and got married in my hometown in December 2007.
Tyler was born in 2009, and we moved (within Roswell) to another house in July 2011.

So when people ask us...how are you a Gamecock, Hokie, Redskin, and Tarheel fan?
Here's your answer!
We've yet to hop on any of the ATL bandwagons yet...except the Braves. I have zero baseball allegiance (and I heart Chipper Jones)
