Welcome to the World Tyler Davis Sullivan!!!

Welcome to the World Tyler Davis Sullivan! Tyler was born on December 18,2009. He weighed in at 6lbs. and 13 oz and was 21.5 inches long!

Wow!!! What a wild couple of weeks it's been! I went into the doctor's office on December 16th because Tyler wasn't kicking around like he normally did in the mornings. The doctor hooked me up to a monitor and conducted a fetal stress test. Everything was pretty normal but Tyler wasn't giving "A+" results. Since I was almost at my due date, they decided to go ahead and induce.

We entered the hospital on the night of the 16th and induction began on the 17th. It was a long day on Pitocin with slight contractions, but at the end of the day I wasn't dilating and the baby wasn't coming down...it was at this point we started talking about a c-section. I decided that I wanted to try one more round of induction, in hopes of a vaginal delivery, so we started the whole process over on the 18th. After another LONG day with heavy contractions and finally an epidural, I still made no progress. At 2pm we decided to go ahead and do the c-section.

I was in the operating room with Ben at 2:45pm and Tyler was born at 3:11pm.

We were released from the hospital on Monday December 21st, and it's been and absolute crazy ride ever since!
We love Tyler! He is a fabulous baby who only cries when he needs to be fed or changed!
He's adorable and your heart literally melts when he looks at you with those enormous blue eyes!
I can tell he's going to be spoiled rotten already!

Ben and I got to spend Christmas day as a family, just the three of us, and then my parents came to spend a couple of days with us on the 26th. It was great having them here so that Ben and I could catch up on a little bit of sleep!
They also bought out half of a toy store for their grandson's first Christmas, and Tyler loved everything! (At least he told me he did though his eyes were closed for almost all of the present opening time).
Since Christmas we've had two pediatrician appts. Tyler is growing like a weed. Today he clocked in at an impressive 7lbs. 10oz. I just can't wait for those cute chubby cheeks to start filling in!
The only thing I can say is how amazing our sweet little man is and how much we love him already!
But also let me note that NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING, can prepare you for being a parent!
Ben and I are learning one step at a time and enjoying it the whole way!
Happy New Year everyone!!!

Induction!

Ben and I will be leaving for the hospital in t-minus 1.5 hours.
I'm so excited I can't believe it.

I'll make this short and sweet but basically I went to the doc's this morning and based off of Tyler's stress test results, they wanted to go ahead and induce labor.
We'll be checking in at 3pm today and hopefully in labor by tomorrow!

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers for a safe and speedy delivery and a healthy baby boy! Can't wait to meet little Tyler!

We'll post pics from the hospital as soon as he is born!

Frustration....

Delivered today....
Had a 9lb-er last week....

Was the first to deliver, although I think she only gained 15lbs during the pregnancy...don't you hate her?

So...in the past week three celebs have given birth while my Tyler is still cooking away!
If I didn't know better, I would say these women paid off the doctor's to induce them early!
Either that or my little guy is a procrastinator, waiting til the last minute to make his appearance.

Work is done, so now comes the time to sit and wait for Baby T to get here!
Waiting sucks..and for a control freak like me, it's even harder!
I'm officially due on December 17th, so Tyler still has time to arrive before he's considered "late". But today I had my last doctor's visit before my 40 weeks is up, and I wasn't encouraged by the news. Although everything is fine, the doctor said that I'm not progressing in dilation so it could be a while before things happen.

So, will Tyler be a Christmas baby??? I guess we'll have to wait and see!

On another frustrating note, Ben and I have decided to replace some of the furniture in the baby's room before he gets here. I actually had two furniture pieces that my grandparents gave me refinished for Tyler's room, and we've been airing them out for months in the hope that the paint fumes would subside....no such luck.

Neither of us feel comfortable letting Tyler sleep in a room with such a strong odor, so we are sending the furniture off to the company to be repainted (and they better not even THINK of charging me) and we will keep it in the garage until we move into another house with more bedrooms. Now, we have just a few days to replace the furniture and get it ready for Tyler...

Uggg...more frustration!

But it's always better to be safe than sorry and trust me when I tell you, the fumes are still very bad.
Good thing he'll be in the bassinet with us for the first couple of months anyway!

So frustration is growing on my part, but it's only because I'm so ready for him to get here and I want everything to be perfect for him...what's a mom to do?

We'll keep you all updated as things progress!!!

Happy Two Year Anniversary to the Sullivans!!!

I can't believe it's been two years since Ben and I said "I DO"!
It was such a fun celebration with all of our family and friends, and I couldn't have asked for a better person to share the rest of my life with....I can't believe we'll be parents in just a few days!

Here's to many more wonderful years together!

Gingerbread Fun!

Now that everything is ready for Baby Tyler we've just been laying low and waiting for him to get here. It's getting harder and harder for me to move around so I'm glad to be taking things slow.

Last week we were able to meet up with Steph and Pat for dinner on Wednesday and I was able to get my nails done and dinner with Amanda and Melissa on Thursday!

Saturday, Ben and I went to a Gingerbread House decorating party that our friends Roberta and Mike were hosting. We had a great time, however I quickly realized that I had NO gingerbread skills when my roof of Red Vines collapsed into the house. The result is the above picture. But at least I was able to snag the prize for "Squatters paradise"! YAY!!
Ben won a prize for "Best Themed" house but we decided not to post a picture of his Porn Palace.

Monday was my doctor's appt where we found out that I was 1cm dilated and that my blood pressure was elevated. As of now, I've been put on a modified version of bed rest until my next doctor's appt on Monday....or Tyler decides to enter the world, whichever comes first!
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers for a safe delivery!

Hope everyone has a great week!!!!

Gobble Gobble...Happy Thanksgiving!

Our beautiful Christmas Tree!
The Sullivans...Ben, Kate, Dwight, and Jan

Dwight (with his daughter in law and grandson in the pic) carving the turkey!

Yummy turkey! There was hardly any left!

The holiday season is officially upon us!!! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! I hope you all had a great time celebrating.

I have to admit I was a bit nervous about cooking an entire Thanksgiving meal for the Sullivan family at 9 months preggers, but everything went off without a hitch!
Wednesday night, before Ben's parents and sister arrived, Ben and I made the dressing, broccoli casserole and gooey butter cake and put them in the fridge to bake on Thursday! Smart move by us (took some of the pressure off for Thursday) and Ben was a huge help!

The Sullivan family got to our house around 10:30pm on Wednesday and we all caught up briefly over snacks and drinks.
Thanksgiving day we served lunch/early dinner around 2pm with Turkey, dressing, broccoli casserole, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, corn, bread, and gooey butter cake with ice cream for dessert! It was all delicious (I have to toot my own horn here)!
Thursday night we stayed in and played board games and recovered from our food coma.

Friday morning we went to brunch at J. Christopher's in downtown Roswell. Afterwards the ladies had a spa day followed by some antique shopping, while Ben watched football and his dad took a trip to the art museum.

Friday night we headed down to the Fernbank Natural History Museum for Martinis and IMAX. We watched the Van Gogh IMAX which none of us were really impressed with. However, the dancing and drinks in the lobby of the museum was a lot of fun.

Saturday, we said goodbye to Ben's family and pretty much were couch potatoes for the rest of the day!
Sunday, we got Ben his early Christmas present of an Iphone and decorated the house for Christmas!

Now, we're just counting the days until Tyler's arrival...16 days and counting!
Hope everyone else had a safe and happy holiday break!
