6 Months!!!!

Today, I'm officially 6 months preggers!!! Can you believe it?
In just 3.5 months (don't let anyone kid you...you are pregnant longer than 9 months) Tyler will be entering the world!!! Thanks to everyone who has sent us kind words, thoughts, prayers and little gifts since we found out we were expecting! It's meant so much to us!!!

We have been busy getting ready for his arrival, and I'm getting excited about going to DC in a couple of weeks for my first shower! It's going to be so great to see everyone!

Tyler has been kicking A LOT lately which brings my parents to believe that "he is going to be as crazy as you were" (that's a direct quote from my mom)!!!
If this turns out to be true...I have a fun road ahead of me! I was one WILD child and I can't wait to see what Tyler has in store for us!!! Fingers crossed that he gets Ben's genes and is a quiet little baby! I guess we'll find out in December!!!

The Roof...the roof

The Roof is on FIRE!!!

Our roof is looking pretty "hot" these days! We got it replaced on Monday! A hail storm came through a couple of months ago and caused some damage to a lot of houses in our neighborhood! We weren't quite sure if we had a lot of damage or not, but we also couldn't see alot from the ground! So we hired a roof contractor who worked with our insurance company to have it replaced! The house is looking good these days!

Party Weekend!!!

This weekend was a lot of fun as we celebrated the last few days of "singleness" of our friends Steph and Pat.
They are getting married at the end of September so a fun night of bachelor/bachelorette shenanigans was in store!
Friday night, we headed over to Steph and Pat's for bbq.
Saturday morning we started the bachelorette day with a Wine Tasting at my house! We had a lot of fun, food and wine! Then it was off to the nail salon for some pampering. That night we all met up at Nava for dinner! Nava had gotten great reviews and I know all of us wanted to try it.
Unfortunately I suffered from a case of "order envy". I got the skirt steak and frites which I was very disappointed in. What I will DEFINITELY get next time is the seared scallops atop a huge mound of sweet potato grits! However, our appetizers of fried cheese balls and lobster tacos were phenomenal.
After dinner, we headed to Fado's for drinks on the rooftop. Unfortunately the smoke filled bar cut my bachelorette time short but overall it was a fun day!

Ben started the day with the bachelor group at a pool party downtown. Then the boys played poker at the hotel, followed by dinner and drinks at RiRa and a visit to the Cheetah! He said the boys had a great time too!!!!

Sunday morning Ben and I did the typical baby prep stuff.
We picked up our crib and glider from Babies R Us and got a Sam's club membership. I heard it was worth the price of enrollment just for the diaper discounts!

Overall, a very eventful and fun weekend!!!

Book Club, Date Night and Tyler update!

Tyler has been using this foot a LOT these days!!!
American Wife by Curtis Sittenfeld

Thank goodness there was NO travel this week. I'm slowly but surely wrapping up my travel schedule for work. My last trip will be mid October when I'll be driving to Charleston for a few days.
This week in ATL was way fun!
Wednesday night I hosted book club at my house.
There was a great turnout and an even better discussion. We read American Wife which was an outstanding book (thanks for the recommendation Caryn)! We did an American themed night with mini burgers, pigs in a blanket, mac and cheese, apple pie and other American classic dishes!!!
While I was hosting BC, Ben and Pat met up for a tennis match then had pizza and beer for dinner.
That also sounds like a classic American night if you ask me!!!

Thursday night Ben and I had date night. We walked two miles to downtown Roswell to go to one of my new fave restaurants called Red Salt. It's the only place I can get well done red meat that's still juicy! I always get the Steak Frites and Ben gets the 7 onion soup. Last night he accompanied it with a big heaping mound of fried calamari! It was so yum!

When Ben and I arrived downtown we realized that it was Alive after Five in Roswell! The streets and restaurants were packed but we were still able to get a table right away. After dinner we browsed a couple of shops and walked back home! It was a great night!

This morning was our monthly doctor's appt to check on Tyler's progress! I'm happy to report that everything is going extremely well! I'll be six months next Friday if you can believe it!
Tyler is definitely kicking up a storm these days!
In fact, he wasn't too pleased that the doctor was trying to find his heartbeat this morning and decided to show her who was boss! He kicked the fetal monitor so hard that the doctor could feel it! Ben also heard the kick on the baby monitor across the room! It was hilarious! Apparently he is quite the troublemaker already!

This weekend we are excited for our friends Pat and Steph's respective Bachelor/Bachelorette parties! It will be a very fun night!!!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Sir Paul rocking it out!!!

Me and Mom before the concert!!!

I'm so glad Ben and I had a relaxing time last weekend because this week made up for it!
Man, was it busy but SO fun!!! Tuesday night Ben and I met up with Amanda and Melissa for tennis. I played the roll of cheerleader (can't have flying balls hurting Tyler) as Ben and Amanda teamed against Melissa and her partner Peter for a doubles match! Ben has decided to take another swing at tennis (no pun intended) and join a doubles league! After practice, we were joined my Melissa's future hub Chris and we all went to Dunwoody Tavern for dinner and drinks! It was a fun night!

Thursday morning I was up super early to catch a flight to Pensacola to do some work stuff for a couple of days!
While I was away...Ben played! Thursday night he met up with Pat, Andy and Mike at Hooter's for trivia night! Apparently they won the whole thing and their bar tab was covered! Can't argue with that now can you?
Friday I finished up work early and was able to catch an early flight home. I arrived at Chateau Sullivan around 7:30! Ben and I ordered Chinese and stayed in.

Saturday morning we were up and "at em" early because my parents were coming into town! My dad's 55th bday was earlier that week and he had NO idea what I had in store for him.
When they arrived (with a ton of adorable new baby clothes for Tyler on hand) I gave dad his present...tickets to see Paul McCartney at Piedmont Park that night! To say he FLIPPED OUT would be an understatement! My parents are two of the biggest Beatles fans EVER (and raised a huge Beatles fan of a daughter), so to see Paul in concert was something extraordinary! As my mom said, this was "THE concert" for them!

We got to the park around 3:15 and got in line. We got inside the park a little after 4 and found a great spot (it was General Admission for a 40,000 audience)! The show started around 8:45 and it was amazing! Yes it was hot during our 4 hour wait, and Yes it rained during the concert but the rain stopped quickly enough and Sir Paul entertained us for 2.5 hours! He played all his great Beatles and Wings songs! My parents and I had a BLAST!
Ben didn't go to the concert because he's not a big Beatles fan (still baffles my mind considering his mom is British) but he earned husband of the year award for driving us down to the Park and coming to pick us up around midnight!
Sunday morning we hit brunch with the parents and then went to Babies R Us to buy our crib and glider! Then we came back to the house and rearranged furniture to make the guest bedroom into Tyler's nursery! My office is now a guest room/office! We said bye to my parents around 3pm and hung low for the rest of the evening!
Such a fun concert and great weekend with the parents!!!!

A Little Less Conversation...A Little More Action Please!

The baby prep has swung into full mode at the Sullivan house!
This week I had a painter come over and paint some of the furniture we would be using for the nursery (both pieces he painted were given to me by my grandparents). I wanted the furniture to match the crib and bookcase! Good news? I loved the color even though I was worried it wouldn't match...Bad news? I hated the paint job. I couldn't fault the guy because he did what I asked....He painted the furniture. But it was not done up to the standard that I had in my head.
Knowing that these pieces were from my grandparents and would be passed for generations to come, I've had to hire an antique refurnishing company to come in, strip/sand the paint off of the furniture, and repaint it! It will be ready in about 3 weeks.
I'm excited about what the final pieces will look like but I'm bummed that we wasted $$ having the first guy do it.
Well, I guess you live and learn right?

Along with nursery shopping and renovating this week (some call this the nesting phase) we also went out to Pho with Steph and Pat on Wednesday. It had been awhile since I satisfied my Pho craving!!
Friday Ben and I had Thai and went to Baby Depot to scope out some other nursery finds. Unfortunately, we didn't find anything so I think we are going to stick with our original choices from Babies R Us. As soon as the nursery is finished (I'm guessing in about a month) I'll post pics for you all!

Saturday, Ben and I went back to the Riverside Farmer's Market and for a walk on the trail. Then I went to meet Amanda and Melissa for lunch and to get Mani's/Pedi's.
Saturday night, Ben and I tried Chicago Style Pizza at a place called Nancy's Pizza in Buckhead. We went with Ben's coworker Chris and his wife Megan. Although it wasn't quite as good as actual Chicago pizza, it was still DELICIOUS!!! We'll definitely be hitting that up again! After dinner, we swung by Pat and Steph's for drinks on the porch (Non alcoholic St. Pauli's for me) and chatted til about Midnight!

Sunday I met back up with Steph at her pool for some tanning time while Ben and Pat played Tennis on the courts next door! I was able to cheer for Ben while reading my US Weekly in the sun!
Sunday night Ben and I grilled out and watched the rest of Shark Week on DVR!
A very relaxing but productive week/weekend!

Trips to AZ and OK!!!

Yuma, AZ....yep, that looks about right!
Although I pulled this pic from my April Vegas file...Ben went to visit Ryan in Oklahoma this weekend!!!

Another pic from my Vegas file....me and Melissa!

What a week!!! With my trip to Arizona came the good...along with the bad.

I spent Mon, Tues and Wed at the Marriott in Downtown ATL interviewing more pharm sales prospects. I was literally wiped out by Wednesday but hopped on a plane and headed to Phoenix for a business trip. I scheduled myself to come in a night early so that I could hang with my fellow Gamecock Melissa!
I was so excited because I had never been to her place before and it's always the best time when we hang together!
Melissa picked me up from the airport and took me to her adorable house where I got to see Angie (her roomie who I hung out with in Vegas in April) and met their adorable dog Dakota for the first time. I had heard so much about Dakota and she definitely lived up to the hype! So cute and sweet, and just wants lots of Doggie Love!
After we dropped off my bags, we headed to a Mexican restaurant in Scottsdale called Frank & Lupes that was DELICIOUS! Melissa, Angie and I met up with their friends Kim and Steve...and a few other friendly faces joined us through the course of the night. The food was great and the company was better. The highlight of the meal came when I tried Sopaipillas for the first time. This is a Mexican pastry that is served with honey and it's out of this world!!!
Thursday I was up bright and early and on a flight to Yuma. As soon as I got there I got an email from corporate offices saying that one of the pharm sales candidates I had interviewed on Monday in ATL had contracted swine flu and that I had officially been exposed. Well this of course completely freaked me out considering pregnant women have a 4 times greater chance of getting swine flu since our immune systems are compromised to begin with.
Anyways, my Thursday night was spent in the Yuma urgent care getting a flu test. The test came back negative (thank God) and I was sent on my way with a Z-pac prescription for my stuffiness and sore throat.
You would think my troubles would end there wouldn't you...negatory! The next day I'm back at work when I decide to run across the street for lunch (well drive across the street considering it was 112 degrees outside). I get to the local KFC to grab a chicken sandwich and decide to use their facilities while I waited on my order. Well, when I was coming out of the bathroom I failed to notice a big puddle of water outside the men's room and DOWN I went.
Of course, I called my doctor right away although I only landed on my knees and was no where near my stomach. My doctor said that I should not get on the plane that evening without going to get a sonogram just to make sure Tyler was okay.
So off I went...back to the hospital. This time it took 4 hours before my sonogram results came back to tell me that Tyler was a-okay...I was EXTREMELY relieved as you can probably guess!
I was given the okay to get on the plane...only problem...I already missed my flight. So I ended up driving (yes driving) 3.5 hours back to Melissa's house in Phoenix. Dark, Empty Desert would be the words I would use to describe the trip.
Words can't begin to tell you how relieved I was to get back to Melissa's!
I was greeted by the whole dinner party that had gathered! I ate Mexican and had a Sprinkles cupcake...and that magically made things a lot better!
I was up bright and early on Saturday and spent pretty much the whole day flying back to Atlanta.
Thanks to Melissa for playing hostess with the mostess...although I didn't get to hang out much on Friday...I had a great time!
Sunday morning, I met my friend Jill (newly engaged) who was in ATL from DC for the weekend. I met her at a local bridal shop where she was trying on dresses! She's going to make a beautiful bride! We then hit up Front Page News for brunch. After brunch, I went to Prenatal Yoga and then came home and waited for Ben to get home from the great state of OK!
While I was in the Southwestern US for the weekend, Ben was in the Heart of the Midwest...Oklahoma that is.
Ben went to Tulsa to visit his best bud Ryan. Ryan just bought a condo on the lake and they spent the weekend there with Ryan's brother & their other friend Kayte.
According to Ben, they had a great time! Lots of fun in the sun with tubing and beers!
The cell reception factor made it difficult for Ben to know what was going on at the hospital regarding Tyler and me, but he was relieved to find out that we were both okay!!

PS- check out Melissa's friend Steve's website! He owns Rockstar Hot Dogs. I want to open a franchise in ATL!

Signs of Movement!!

So little Tyler has definitely been showing us that he's around this past week! As of last Tuesday, I officially felt him move for the first time....and he hasn't stopped since!!! We are so excited!

Blooper from last week

Sometimes the craziness of people's lives (well...that combined with a serious case of pregnancy brain) can lead us to forgetting a thing or two! I'm definitely living proof!
I'm in that "Now why did I come all the way downstairs...what was I looking for?" phase of pregnancy.

Anyways, I would be remiss if I didn't include a fun event that happened the same week as my trip to MN, Rusty's visit and Melissa's Bday celebration.

I totally forgot to mention that I went to another bday party!
My friend Steph S had her bday celebration at Six Feet Under that week and we had a great girls night eating seafood and having cake!!!

Happy Bday Steph!
