Weddings and What Not...

We've had an eventful past couple of weeks at the Sullivan house! We're finally about 95% done with our house renovations so I will be posting pics of the house in the next week or so! So glad to get everything done so we can start enjoying our new digs!

After getting Tyler completely well, we were able to have some fun the week of 8/15. Wednesday, Tyler and I went downtown to have dinner with my friend Ellen who was in town from DC!
We went to a really cute Italian place, but Tyler hit a wall around 8pm and fell asleep on the ride home. My poor little man! I had some serious mommy guilt for keeping him out so late! He's usually done by 7:45. But it was great to see Ellen and Tyler absolutely loved her! (Not to mention her sweet Penthouse hotel room. He stared out the window at the cars below for a good 45 minutes)

Friday, we had Sullivan Family Date night which included Pho and Ice Cream! One of our new fave places is called Scoops near downtown
Alpharetta. Tyler LOVES it there! Birthday Cake ice cream is his favorite!

Saturday morning we headed to Spartanburg for the wedding of one of my dear childhood friends.
Clay and I grew up across the street from each other. I've known him since he was 3 and I was 9. He's like my little brother! We spent almost every weekend together growing up and our families went on tons of vacations together!

I can't believe that "My Little Clay" is all grown up and getting married but I'm super excited for him. Congrats Clay and Sara!

While Ben and I went to the wedding with my Dad, my Mom stayed home and watched Tyler! She had a great time spoiling her grandchild. This involved putting him into a sugar coma with cookies and ice cream.
Sunday we headed home and I was able to make it to a going away dinner with the girls for my friend Caroline who will be moving to Tucson at the end of the month.

This past week we had our new neighbors Jill and Shaun over for dinner with their little girls Ava and Harper! Tyler had a ball playing with his new girlfriends!
Saturday, I had to work but Tyler had a sitter so that we could go to our friends Chris and Sabrina's housewarming party on Saturday night. Ben headed over with Mike and Roberta and I met up with them as soon as I was able to get out of the office.
Sunday we ran errands in the morning and then I met up with Steph and Dylan so that we could take the boys to ice cream while the Daddies did their Fantasy Football draft.
Good times were had all around!!!

The Great Plague!

After a fun first weekend in August filled with pool lounging and having friends over at the house, we got right back into the swing of things! I had to go to Memphis for work on Wednesday and Thursday and came back in time for Book Club on Thursday night! It was a great time and I actually read the book for once! Hooray! Virgin of Small Plains is a great read for any of you book lovers out there! Now I'm working on The Hunger Games for next month's meeting and I'm already addicted. What a GREAT series...if your into the Harry Potter/Twilight scene that is!

Friday, Tyler's school was closed for a teacher inservice so Ben and I played the "Work while trying to chase a toddler game." That lasted until after Tyler's nap and then we got on the road to Spartanburg to visit Nana and Papa for Papa's birthday! We met my parents and sister at Hans and Franz Biergarten in Greenville for some authentic German food and then headed to their house. The plan was to lounge by my parent's pool Saturday morning and then head home Saturday evening...that is until Tyler started running a fever Friday night. We left Spartanburg early on Saturday and took Tyler to Urgent Care in Atlanta. They diagnosed it as a cold but it got progressively worse and Monday he just felt rotten. You could tell...all he wanted was to be held. He slept for 4 hours during the day and just watched TV when he was awake. I took him to the doctor and they confirmed that it was just a virus that needed time to pass through his system. Good news is that by Monday night he was MUCH better and today he is back at school, Hooray!

Other highlights of the weekend included a visit from Kate (sis in law) and Matt (future brother in law who Tyler likes to call "Mapp") on Sunday. We ordered Pizza and went to the pool when Tyler was briefly showing signs of improvement. It was great to see them as usual!

Have a great week everyone, and remember to get your flu shot, haha!!!

Summer Update & Catching up!!!

Well it's official!!! I knew it would happen someday! I knew that in the 3 years I've been blogging...one day life was going to get the better of me and I would leave my little website in the dust...I just knew it!

Well, that time has arrived...All it took was purchasing and moving into a new home while selling our old one, coupled with traveling all over the east coast and raising a 19 month old to make it happen!
My apologies out there to everyone that is a regular reader of the Adventures of The Sullivans! I promise not to let this happen again!

But in one word...we've been BUSY!!!
So let me catch you up!!!

Since I won't bore you with 3 months of details, I'll highlight all the major things that have happened since my last entry! In just a matter of weeks, we've managed to do the following:

1. Buy a house that was a former celebrity home! During our inspection we were told that Morris Day (Morris Day and the Time & Purple Rain) lived there and actually finished the basement for us ...HOORAY!
2. Memorial Day weekend - we actually had a really quiet one which was fantastic!
3. Girls weekend at the Ritz June 4th! So relaxing!
4. Celebrate Dylan's 1st Birthday (son of our friends Steph and Pat) on June 18th! Coincidentally it was Tyler's half birthday that very same day (can't believe my little man is getting so big)!
5. Celebrate Ben's 2nd Father's Day with a trip to his fave restaurant Sugo with good friends!
6. Go to Florida and Tennessee for work
7. Go on a week long Family Vacation to Isle of Palms!
8. Fly to DC for the weekend for the wedding of our friends Katye and Matt, and squeeze in time to see a lot of good friends and family!
9. Close on two houses and Move!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
10. Take Tyler to his second Braves game!
11. Go to NC for a few days for work while Tyler stayed with his Nana and Papa!
12. Remodel our new home
13. Unpack
14. Welcome my old Talecris buddies Chesare and Sylvia for a weekend in Atlanta!
15. Meet 4 of our new neighbor families!
16. Host Steph and Pat & Roberta and Mike for dinner this weekend and have our old neighbors Jared, Melanie, and Maddie over for a playdate at the pool on Sunday!

Yes..it's been busy...actually it's been insane! But now that we are settled in our new home...and the drama of the move is behind us, we are truly happy!!!
Thanks to everyone for the well wishes and I will post pictures of the new house soon! I promise! I just want to get the renovations done so you can see the house in it's full glory!!!

Enjoy a few of the pictures of Summer 2011! It's been a wild one!

Sullivan Family Update

Oh my...so much has been going on over the past few weeks! I've been delinquent in my blogging but with good reason! So sit back and grab a cup of Joe...this may be a long post!

The weekend after Easter started off with the most anticipated wedding of the year!!!

Congrats to William and Kate!! I was awake at 4am on Friday, drinking coffee and texting frantically with all of my fellow pop culture loving girlfriends!!!

Friday night Ben and I headed with our next door neighbors (kids in tow) to Diesel in Downtown Roswell for some yummy pizza, beer and live music! It was a great time.

Saturday morning my parents arrived and we headed to the mall for lunch, merry go round, toy shopping and a train ride. Tyler had so much fun!!!

Saturday night Nana and Papa babysat so that Ben and I could go to Sip in Alpharetta with Steph and Pat. The night included a wine tasting and dinner seating outside in perfect weather! We had a fantastic time and I can't wait to go back again!

Sunday I took my Mom and Dad to the Food and Entertainment Expo to see Paula Deen Live! It was quite funny, as she didn't cook (only ate) and seemed a little drunk! But she was hilarious! We had a great time tasting local food and I even got a Diners, Drive Ins and Dives Book signed by Guy Fieri!!! Way cool!

The next week included a trip to see Water for Elephants with my Book Club! A little Robert Pattinson action is always good for the soul!

Friday, I celebrated Mother's Day at Tyler's school complete with a muffin breakfast

before heading into work! I got my Mother's Day gifts Friday evening and my boys and I had happy hour on the patio!
Saturday we met my parents in Commerce(the half way point between Spartanburg and

Atlanta...we always meet at the same Starbucks) to drop off Baby T for the night, and then came home and did a little house hunting before we got ready for the Derby Party at John's Creek Country Club. It was an annual charity gala that included a silent auction. Ben bid and won an

autographed Seinfeld script which he loves! It was a great date night that included big hats and mint juleps!! Sunday, Ben and I had brunch to celebrate Mother's Day before we picked up Tyler from my parents. The weekend closed with drinks on the deck with Melanie and Jared and a visit from Amanda, who was in town from Chicago! It was so great to see her!

Last week, I headed to Dallas for work Monday - Thursday. While I was gone, two major events happened. We sold our house, which is very exciting but stressful considering we had only begun house hunting, and Thursday I was alerted that Tyler had another febrile seizure at school.

Needless to say, it was one of the worst days of my life! I was in Dallas and ran out of training to call Ben and have him go straight to the hospital. Paramedics arrived and Tyler quit seizing after about 5 minutes. His teachers were able to cool him down and regulate his temperature. His school was AMAZING. His teacher even rode on the ambulance to the hospital. Ben arrived and met the ambulance at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, where it was determined that a small virus caused his spike in temperature.

Meanwhile, I left immediately on the first flight out of Dallas. I arrived in Atlanta by 4pm and was able to get to my little boy at the hospital by 4:30! It was the best feeling to hold him in my arms and know everything was okay!

It was a rough rough week...but everyone is okay.

It's likely that these seizures will continue until he grows out of them in about 4 years, and they don't cause any type of brain damage, but it still doesn't make this process easier!

It's just something we are going to have to watch carefully!

A rough week led to a fun weekend! Tyler was fever free by Saturday morning, so we were able to make our next door neighbors Crawfish boil!

We had a great time at Melanie and Jared's and will TRULY miss them when we move in July!

Sunday, we went house hunting and as of tonight we OFFICIALLY put an offer in on a house!

Send good thoughts and prayers our way! I'll be sure to keep you all updated as the deal proceeds!!!

Easter Joy

We had a great Easter Weekend!!! Tyler loved the Easter Egg hunts at School and Church and got spoiled rotten by the Easter Bunny! And of course I was overjoyed at how quickly Tyler got the hang of "egg hunting"! He loved it!

At 16 months, he's talking up a Storm!!! He can now put words together ("outside" and "all done" are his current favorites) but is still deathly afraid of anything in costume! (i.e. no pics with the Easter Bunny this year). He also loves his class at daycare and although well behaved is still my little trouble maker :) (hence the scratch on his eye in some of the pics)!!!

The week leading up to Easter, I had my hands full with Tyler for 3 days while Ben traveled to Dallas for work. We were so happy to have him home on Thursday night!

Good Friday, Ben and I visited Tyler's school for an Easter Egg Hunt, Parade and Ice Cream Party. He had so much fun and got a bit messy too! Then we got straight in the car and headed to Spartanburg to spend Easter with the Heatherly family!

Saturday morning was a big Easter Egg Hunt at church, followed by a trip to see Great Grandma Bobbie! The day finished with egg dying, lots of outdoor play, and a date night for Ben and I for Thai in downtown Spartanburg (no stop at Ferguson's Tavern for all you wedding attendees)!

Sunday morning, Tyler invaded his Easter stash, we went to church, and then headed to Easter Brunch at my parent's neighborhood clubhouse! It was such a beautiful day. Tyler ran around on the golf course while we sipped bloody mary's and stuffed our faces!

We returned to Atlanta in the late afternoon and crashed!

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

Fun times with Kate and Matt!

One busy week leads into another around here!

After a fun shower weekend for Andy and Angela, I took a quick work trip to Charlotte on Tuesday and had an awesome Book Club meeting on Thursday at Angela's house. Friday, Ben went out to happy hour with Pat, while Tyler and I had some quality Mommy & T time!

Saturday, we welcomed Kate and Matt for the night! It was so great seeing them! Matt had just returned from deployment and the newly engaged couple had a fun road trip planned. First stop...Atlanta!

First things first...we had to stop at Pho for lunch!
Then it was off to Whirlyball! We met 10 of our friends at the Whirlyball court and had a blast! Tyler loved watching while Ben and I took turns playing (who knew Whirlyball was such a great babysitter...seriously, the kid was glued to the glass for the entire hour)!

After Whirlyball we hosted everyone back at our house for a bbq that turned into a late night poker party! A great time was had by all!

Sunday, we went to the Braves game (Tyler's first) and wrapped things up with Tyler's 16 month photo shoot! I didn't intend on having professional shots done of him until December but when a family friend's daughter asked to put Tyler in her portfolio in exchange for a free photo shoot..we couldn't refuse! Enjoy the pics!!!
